LRC News

We have some exciting new resources in the LRC. 

We now have a collection of Bilingual picture story books, the languages included are: Arabic, Dari, Farsi, Hindi, Pashto, Samoan and Tagalog. Please come along and borrow a book in your home language. 

We have been running pop up clubs at lunch times. So far we have had Carrom, Chess, Jewellery making, Drawing and Petteia. There are also jigsaw puzzles and other activities available to loan such as playing cards and Uno.

There is a sign up form on Compass for applications for our Teen Library Advisor group. The TLAs are a group of students who meet on Wednesday lunchtimes, every fortnight. We discuss events happening in the library and you are also expected to volunteer some of your time to shelve books and help with displays. TLAs get a membership badge & an end of term gathering to thank them for their contributions.   

Lastly, we have our first LRC event happening on Wednesday 25th March at lunch time. This is a Poetry day celebration. Students are invited to read a poem they have written or another poet’s work. It is a chance to gather together & share our ideas. It is always an enjoyable event. Please come & see Miss Sharon in the LRC to enter your poem.
