LIGHT of HOPE

School Theme: LIGHT of HOPE

Religious Education

Welcome, all families to our St Raphael's School Community.

St. Raphael’s is a Catholic primary school and an integral part of West Preston Parish.

We aim to develop students' knowledge and understandings of Christianity in the light of Jesus and the Gospel and its unfolding story and diversity within contemporary Australian and global society (Framing Paper).

In partnership with our parents and Church, we promote and live the gospel values and celebrate our Catholic faith and tradition.

We educate children to be confident, skilled and positive contributors to our world. Inspired by the life of Jesus, our patron St. Raphael and with our students at the centre of who we are and what we do, we foster positive relationships through

acceptance

trust

hope

honesty

(Extract from OUR MISSION AND VISION STATEMENT AT  ST. RAPHAEL’S)

As a Catholic school community, and as learners we will continue to Seek to Live the Good News and contribute to this reflective process by offering a variety of strategies and teaching and learning approaches consistent with current pedagogical practice. Our programs assist catechists to share and pass on the story of Jesus Christ and to nurture students' growing relationship with Christ. This particularly coincides with this year's theme for Catholic Education Week - The Way of the Gospel, which is based on Archbishop Peter A Comensoli's Pastoral Letter for Pentecost 2021 -Take the Way of the Gospel.

For generations, we at St Raphael have educated children and provided children with many experiences, learning opportunities and many memorable moments. Today we share with our current school community, how we continue with our educational mission and how the generation after generation continue to come back to our school and parish.

Teaching the next generation!
