Year 4 News

Happy Week 4!
This week, Ms Dantas began taking full responsibility for teaching several lessons as part of her teaching placement. The students have responded positively to her engaging lessons and have enjoyed working with her across a range of learning areas. We are excited to continue supporting Ms Dantas as she further develops her teaching practice over the coming weeks. A big congratulations to Year 4 students for hosting assembly; it was lovely to see everyone's confidence!
As readers, we have continued reading our class novel, The Wild Robot. Students have been strengthening their inference and comprehension skills by using clues from the text and illustrations to deepen their understanding of characters, settings and events. We have also been exploring grammar and punctuation through activities connected to the novel, helping students apply these skills in meaningful contexts.
As writers, we have begun our persuasive writing unit. Students have been learning about the purpose and structure of persuasive texts and exploring how authors convince their audience. They have started developing strong arguments, using persuasive language and supporting their opinions with reasons and evidence to make their writing more convincing.
As mathematical thinkers, we have concluded our unit on multiplication and division. Throughout the unit, students have explored a range of efficient strategies to solve multiplication and division problems, explain their mathematical thinking and apply their understanding to increasingly complex tasks. We are incredibly proud of the confidence and persistence they have demonstrated throughout this unit of learning.
Thank you for your continued support at home. We hope you all have a wonderful week!
