Clay Family Workshops

Clay Workshop

Our Family Clay Workshop on Wednesday 27 May was a tremendous success, filling not just one, but two classrooms with creativity, laughter and community spirit. It was wonderful to welcome families, siblings, current students and prospective students together for an evening of learning and connection through ceramics.

The atmosphere throughout the night was warm, welcoming and full of enthusiasm as participants explored a range of ceramic techniques and discovered the joy of working with clay. From pinch pots and grazing platters to SpongeBob's head and even a horse or two, the variety of creations reflected the imagination and personality of every maker. In fact, it quickly became apparent that we were hosting more than a few hidden professionals, with some of the finished pieces truly blowing us away!

Beyond the clay creations, the evening provided a valuable opportunity for families to spend quality time together, meet new people and strengthen connections within our school community. There was a genuine sense of pride as participants shared ideas, supported one another and celebrated each other's successes.

One family member reflected on the experience, saying, "It was a great chance to do something that we wouldn't normally do. It was a chance to build ties to the school and the others in the school community."

Events such as these remind us of the power of creativity to bring people together. Thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to such a memorable evening. We look forward to seeing everyone's finished ceramic pieces once they have been fired and glazed. We also look forward to hosting more in the future!
