Support & Advice

Parent/Carer Support and Advice

Throughout the year, a number of families have sought advice and support regarding issues that are impacting young people both within and beyond the school environment.

Some families have asked for this information to be included in the community newsletter.......so here it is.

Topics such as social media use, excessive screen time, gaming, vaping and bullying continue to be significant challenges for many families and communities.

These concerns are not unique to schools or regional towns - they are widespread issues being experienced across Australia and beyond. While schools play an important role in supporting students, families remain the most influential factor in helping young people develop healthy habits and make positive choices.

As a college, we are committed to working in partnership with families and are always available to provide support and guidance where possible. To assist, we have included a range of resources from trusted and reputable organisations that offer practical information, advice and strategies for discussing these topics with your child.

Importantly, we encourage families not to shy away from having difficult conversations when concerns arise. While these discussions can sometimes be challenging, they are often necessary to address issues early before they become established behaviours that may have a long-term impact on a young person's wellbeing, relationships, learning and future opportunities. Clear boundaries, honest communication and consistent expectations at home can make a significant difference in helping young people make positive choices.
