Amazing Success – Hard Work Pays Off!

We are thrilled to celebrate the outstanding achievement of Sophie Strano, who has been selected in the Victorian State Gymnastics Team (Level 8). Sophie will represent Victoria at the Australian Gymnastics Championships in Sydney, competing with her team at the Olympic Centre in Homebush. Her goal is to qualify for the individual finals, a remarkable opportunity at the highest level of competition.

Sophie’s selection is the result of years of dedication, determination and hard work. Training an incredible 16 hours each week, she earned her place in the Victorian team after outstanding performances in the selection trial competitions. Her achievement is even more significant as she is the first gymnast from Jets Gymnastics Gisborne to be selected in a Victorian State Team.

Sophie has already enjoyed considerable success this year, including competing at the Victorian State Championships in May. She recently attended a Victorian team training session, where she had the opportunity to meet the three Victorian gymnasts selected to represent Australia at the Commonwealth Games - an inspiring experience for any aspiring athlete.

Her achievements have also attracted local media attention, and we were quick to welcome Sophie to school to gain a signed copy of the newspaper featuring her success.

Sophie’s journey is a wonderful example of what can be achieved through perseverance, commitment and a willingness to strive for excellence. We congratulate her on this incredible accomplishment and wish her every success as she represents Victoria on the national stage.
