Year 9 MYP Community Project: 

Taking Action and Exhibition Save the Date!

The Year 9 MYP Community Project is entering its most exciting phase – Taking Action! After months of research, planning and collaboration, our students are ready to exhibit their initiatives that aim to create real, positive change within our community.

Exhibition Save the Date: Friday 5 September 2025

Time: 3:25pm

Location: Oakleigh Grammar Library

From environmental sustainability campaigns to local outreach projects, students have worked in small groups to address issues they care deeply about. This phase highlights their creativity, critical thinking, and commitment to community engagement, a cornerstone of the IB Middle Years Programme.

The school community is warmly invited to attend this special event, where students will present their outcomes, reflect on their journey, and celebrate the impact of their work. It’s a proud moment for both our Year 9s and the staff who have guided them.

Year 6 Backpack for Kids Drive – Donations and Sponsors Needed!

As part of our MYP Community Engagement Program, our Year 6 students are proudly launching the Backpack for Kids Drive – a service initiative aimed at supporting children in need with essential school supplies.

This year’s project is run in partnership with local charity Five Loaves, combining student leadership with community care to make a meaningful difference in the lives of under-resourced children.

Our goal is to fill backpacks with stationery, lunchboxes, drink bottles, books, and warm beanies and jumpers, other school essentials to help every child start the school year with confidence and dignity.

We Need Your Help!

We are currently seeking donations of new school supplies and sponsorship from local businesses to expand the reach of this important initiative.

How You Can Contribute:

📦 Donate new items such as pencils, exercise books, rulers, erasers, glue sticks, or beanies and warm jumpers/pants

💵 Sponsor a supplies or contribute financially

🤝 Share the campaign with friends, family, and local businesses

All donations can be dropped off at Reception or Service Coordinators office until 15th September 2025.

Let’s work together to give every child the best possible start to their education.
