Senior School

As we approach the business end of the year, where students complete SACs and assessment tasks in preparation for their final examinations, we remind our students of the importance academics play at Oakleigh Grammar. In the semester gone, we have celebrated sporting achievements at the House Swimming and Athletics as well as the EISM Championship events while also a strong representation at the NSE games. Our Pastoral focus is always paramount with camps for our Year 11 and Year 12 students being completed as well as several exciting programs during our Pastoral sessions. That being said, it is crucial that we remind our students that one of the most important facets of our school is academic growth.
Students were met with their first VCAA external examination, that being the GAT. It was a learning opportunity for our Year 11 students who had not sat an external examination before and a timely reminder for our Year 12 students of the processes and protocols set out by the VCAA. To those students that weren’t able to achieve at the level they had hoped, use the break to review, revise and rejuvenate as Term 3 is going to be just as, if not busier. Those that achieved at the level they were hoping for, time to look at how you can extend those grades for your final examinations at the end of the year, and those that achieved above and beyond what they had hoped, well done to you, keep on striving for greatness.
Have a restful term break, make sure you balance your time with relaxing and preparation for the term to come.
Best wishes

As we reach the end of another term, it is with great pleasure that we reflect on the many achievements and positive experiences our students engaged in. Throughout this term, our students have demonstrated outstanding commitment to their health, study skills, and overall success. It has been a term filled with celebrations, engagement, and service that have fostered a true sense of community spirit and zest for life.
One of the highlights of this term was the completion of the Morrisby report by the Year 10 students. The report has provided invaluable insights into their individual strengths, interests, and potential career pathways. With this knowledge, students are now equipped to make informed decisions about their future education and career goals.
Throughout the term, we were delighted to witness numerous events that celebrated student engagement and service. All events demonstrated our students' commitment to giving back to the community and honouring important traditions. These events not only showcased their dedication but also fostered a sense of gratitude and compassion within our school community.
As we look ahead to the break, it is important to recognise the hard work and dedication of both staff and students. Everyone’s efforts have contributed to the positive and successful term we have experienced.
Wishing you all a restful break and a wonderful winter.
Warm regards,
Paula D-Tsiagalos
Year Level Leader (Years 10 & 11)
