LOTE

This term in Year 3 LOTE Greek classes, students worked into the rich world of Greek mythology, focusing on the legendary hero Hercules and his famous Twelve Labours. As part of their learning, students explored the character of Hercules, his strengths, his challenges, and how his story continues to influence modern culture and language.
Through storytelling, reading, and guided activities in Greek, students developed their vocabulary while deepening their understanding of Hellenic history and values. The highlight of the unit was the creation of colourful posters, where each student chose a different labour of Hercules to illustrate and describe. The posters were not only a visual celebration of their learning, but also an opportunity for students to present their work in Greek to the class, building both confidence and speaking skills.
This unit provided a strong cultural connection, allowing students to experience how myths have shaped the Greek language and identity. It was a wonderful opportunity for Year 3 students to appreciate the significance of stories in preserving tradition and expressing timeless human themes. Well done to all the students for their creativity, enthusiasm, and commitment to their Greek learning journey!
