THE TERM IN PHOTOS ( SO FAR)
Racing and study go hand in hand, check out some of our snaps from training, study session the Victorian HPV Series and all of the great learning so far in term 2.
REFLECTION ON ROUND 2 OF THE VICTORIAN HPV SERIES
After a great win at Calder Park in round 1, a smaller team took to the track at Casey Field for round 2 of the VIC HPV Series. I started the race at 10am, it was kind of scary being my first time on the team. It felt so good racing while discovering the race track, and every now and then I would remember that my parents were there to support and were always watching me. When I got out we had to do a swap over REALLY fast, we took that as our main focus for the day. Adrenaline came first again, yay! Whiplash finished 7th. Well done to everybody that participated. Thank you to the community for supporting us along the way. - Hayley Popple.
TRAINING AND TEAM UPDATES.
"Term 2 training sessions have been some of our very best. Our team has been focusing on long runs at Tom Flood Velodrome. While keeping our same personal average lap time. our training on rollers has been very good. We've started to time our rides so we can record to set goals for us to improve on. To keep engaged while we ride a lot of fitness learning is taking place. We have been using wahoo speed sensers to learn about how fast we have been going while in the trike and how long we have been going for. While in the trike we have been also watching onbords so we learn the tracks. This prepares us for racing". - James Mansbridge.
BUNNINGS BBQ
"Working with our community is something we love doing as part of the HPV team. Not only do we enjoy riding, racing and all of the great things that come with being a part of the team, we love heading out into the community and sharing what we do. During the term we headed out to Bunnings Epsom as part of our fundraising for this years events. As a team, along with out teachers and parents we put on one epic BBQ. We were so thrilled with the community support and the way people took an interest in what we do. Our teamwork allowed us to raise just over $3000, all of this will go towards better resourcing for the team. We want to say a great big thankyou to our parents, each other, for heling us put on a wonderful Saturday BBQ." - The HPV Team.
