Grade 1

Amazing Grade Ones
Dear Grade One Families,
We've had a fantastic Term 2 filled with learning, progress, and fun in Grade One! The students have continued to build on their reading, writing, and maths skills, and it’s been wonderful to see their confidence and independence growing.
This term, we’ve enjoyed exploring new texts, diving deeper into phonics, and using different strategies to solve maths problems. The students have also been developing their speaking and listening skills through discussions and class sharing.
Thank you for your continued support—we truly value the partnership between home and school. We’re proud of everything the students have achieved this term and look forward to a successful Term 3 ahead!

FRIENDLY REMINDERS
As we are about to continue another exciting term of learning, here are a few friendly reminders to help keep our students happy, healthy, and ready for the school day:
⭐ PE & Healthy Bodies Days – Please ensure your child wears comfortable uniform and suitable shoes for movement.
📚 Library & Home Reading – Don’t forget to pack your child’s library bag and home reader journal along with their decodable readers each week.
🧢 Hats & Drink Bottles – A wide-brimmed hat is essential for outdoor play, and a water bottle helps keep students hydrated throughout the day.
🥗 Healthy Lunchboxes – We encourage nutritious snacks and lunches to fuel growing minds. Please remember that lollies are not allowed at school.
🚫 Toys at School – To avoid distractions and lost items, we ask that toys stay at home.
🚫 Make-up, Beauty Products and Jewellery at School – To avoid distractions and lost items, we ask that all make-up, beauty products and jewellery stay at home.
🌰 Allergy Awareness – We have a student with a severe peanut allergy (anaphylaxis) in Grade One. To help keep everyone safe, please avoid sending any peanut products in your child’s lunchbox.
Thank you for your support in helping our Grade One students have a smooth and successful term!
CROSS COUNTRY
Well done to all our students who participated in the school cross country! We were so proud to see everyone give it their best go, showing great sportsmanship and persistence. A big thank you to families who came along to cheer—your support means the world.
SWIMMING
Our swimming lessons have been a big hit! The students are building confidence in the water while learning important safety skills. Thank you for sending along bathers, towels, and goggles each day—it makes a big difference.
MOTHERS DAY
Celebrating our glorious mothers and special people!
We loved celebrating Mother’s Day with a special craft and classroom activities. The students worked hard to create heartfelt gifts and cards. We hope all our mums and special carers had a lovely day—you truly are appreciated!
AUSLAN INCURSION
This week, we had a special Auslan incursion where students were introduced to Australian Sign Language. They learned how to sign their names and some everyday greetings. It was a fun and inclusive experience that helped us explore new ways of communicating!
