2026 Victorian lnterschools Snowsport Championships

I represented Essex Heights Primary School at the 2026 Victorian lnterschools Snowsport Championships at Mount Buller. Competing in the three demanding disciplines of Alpine Giant Slalom, Moguls and Ski Cross at a state-level event, for the very first time. 

I was one of the younger competitors in Division 5, where most participants were Year 4 students. I had to consistently training to develop my snow sport skills.

Alpine Giant Slalom:  Result – 129th out of 184 participants

The Alpine Giant Slalom was my first event of the championships, and also my first experience racing at a state-level competition. I was nervous but pushed through with determination and completed both runs. It wasn't the result I wanted but it was an important learning experience. 

Moguls:  Result – 69th out of 126 participants

Moguls came second and it is one of the most technical disciplines, requiring rhythm, balance, and quick reactions. I handled the bumps with better rhythm and control and I was calmer. 

Ski Cross:  Result – 61st out of 169 participants (Time 34.04 seconds)

Near Qualification:

• 1.26 seconds away from the state final
• 3 seconds away from the national final

Ski Cross was my final event and my strongest performance of the championships. 

My achievements this year could not have been possible without consistent training, steady practice, and trying to improving my skills. 

I represented EHPS with pride and enthusiasm. Participating in my first Victorian lnterschools Snowsport Championships was very exciting and I’m determined to improve my results next year.
