Digital technologies across the school
At HEPS our Digital Technologies program aims to support students problems solving, creativity and critical thinking. Below are examples of some of the wonderful work happening across our school:
Robotics: Foundation and Grade 1
Students have been exploring positional language and mapping. To support this learning students have been programming bee-bots and ozo-bots to travel through a range of maps. Student are focused on providing clear instructions throughout.
Dronie application: Foundation and Grade 1
Through the use of a drone simulation program, students are learning the important role that drones play in science. Students apply their coding knowledge to program a drone to perform a range of scientific explorations.
Canva: Grades 3 and 4
Students from grades 3 and 4 have been learning to represent their research in a creative way using Canva to create an infograph.
3D design and printing: Grade 5 and 6
Students in grades 5 and 6 are in the final stages of designing their prototypes that either improve the life of an astronaut at the international space station or use space technology to better life on earth.
