Student Services

As we begin to wrap up Term 1, it’s been an exciting and productive start to the school year. Our students have settled in well and embraced the opportunities for learning, growth, and engagement across all subjects and activities. As a student services team we have had a strong focus on student attendance this term and we have taken great strides in this space with over 15% of our student population achieving 100% attendance from weeks 1 to 7.

Outside the classroom, students have participated in a range of extracurricular activities. Our Inter School Sports teams have participated competitively in Volleyball, Tennis and Swimming to name a few. The Year 7 cohort had an amazing camp at Roses Gap in the Grampians with the Year 11 VET REC students running some excellent relationship building activities. At the other end of the school, the VCE/VM cohort has settled in well and are building on some strong work habits that will serve them well throughout the year.

I would like to finish with paying my respects to Jacob Habel who was a much-loved student in Year 11 and sadly passed away in February. Your peers in Year 11 have shown true resilience with this sad new and you will be forever missed.

YEAR 7 MEET AND GREET BARBEQUE

Earlier this term, our wonderful Year 7 Meet and Greet Barbeque evening took place. It was a wonderful opportunity for our Year 7 families to meet our Year 7 teachers in a relaxed and fun environment.

YEAR 7 CAMP

The Year 7 students absolutely LOVED the Year 7 camp 3 day/2 night experience at Roses Gap, in the Grampians. The food was great and the activities were so much fun. Canoeing, abseiling, a night disco and forest walks were among some of the many awesome activities. Please refer to the separate "Year 7 Camp" page in this edition for more details.
