House Swimming Sports 2025 – A Spectacular Display of Talent and Team Spirit!

On Thursday, February 20th, Warrandyte High students and staff arrived at Boroondara Sports Complex, decked out in vibrant house colours and creative costumes, ready to make a splash in this year’s House Swimming Sports. The atmosphere was electric as students cheered, competed, and embraced the spirit of friendly competition.

The conditions were perfect for a day of swimming, with students diving into races, cheering their houses to victory, and taking part in some of the event’s most beloved traditions. Whether competing for podium finishes or simply contributing valuable house points, participation was at an all-time high.

One of the most anticipated highlights of the day was the annual bombing contest from the 3m diving board. Spectators were treated to an impressive array of techniques, with some entries making waves—literally! The energy and support from the crowd were incredible, particularly for those stepping out of their comfort zones to take the plunge. Another crowd-favourite event, the noodle race, also saw fierce competition, with students eager to earn crucial points for their houses.

And the Winners Are…

After an action-packed day, Stiggant House emerged victorious for the third consecutive year!

Final Scores:

  • Stiggant – 343 points
  • Michel – 281 points
  • Newman – 244 points

  • Newman – Iyla Campbell (Year 8)
  • Anderson – Lucas Abrahams (Year 8)

Beyond the Pool – House Spirit and Creativity

The Grand Finale – Staff vs. Student Inflatable Crocodile Relay

The event wrapped up with the much-anticipated Staff vs. Student Inflatable Crocodile Relay, a thrilling showdown where friendly rivalry reached new heights. With sabotage (and a fair share of rule-bending) from all sides, the teachers ultimately clinched victory, using clever strategies to navigate the chaos and cross the finish line first. The competitive spirit and laughter shared in this event were the perfect way to end an unforgettable day.

A Day to Remember

A huge congratulations to all students for their enthusiastic participation, sportsmanship, and team spirit. A heartfelt thank you to the staff for their efforts in organising and supporting the event, ensuring its success.

With such an incredible start to the year, we can’t wait to see what’s in store for House Athletics! Bring on the next challenge!
