Year 7

As we reach the end of Term 1, I would like to congratulate our Year 7 students on a positive and successful start to their secondary school journey. Transitioning into high school is a significant milestone, and it has been wonderful to see students embrace new routines, build friendships, and engage with the many opportunities available.
Throughout the term, students have demonstrated resilience and a willingness to step outside their comfort zones—whether navigating a new timetable, participating in co-curricular activities, or developing effective study habits. Our orientation activities have played a key role in fostering a strong sense of belonging and connection within the cohort.
We have also been pleased with the way students have responded to our school values of respect, co-operation and excellence. Establishing these foundations early is essential for long-term success, and our Year 7's are well on their way.
Year 7's completed their NAPLAN testing during 11 - 23 March and approached the tests with motivation, purpose and a positive attitude. Well done Year 7's.
I encourage families to continue supporting students by maintaining open communication, reinforcing positive routines, and celebrating their achievements—both big and small.
Thank you to our dedicated staff for their ongoing support and care in ensuring a smooth transition for every student.
We look forward to continuing working with the year 7s so they can reach their full potential.

Year Level Leader's Report - Year 7
This term has been a positive one for our Year 7 students as they settle into secondary school and develop confidence in their learning and independence. Students have shown great enthusiasm for their subjects and are becoming more familiar with school routines, expectations and AVID organisational skills.
In the classroom, Year 7 students have engaged in a wide range of learning experiences that have encouraged curiosity, creativity and critical thinking. They have worked collaboratively, practiced new skills and taken increasing responsibility for completing tasks and meeting deadlines. Teachers have been pleased to see students grow in resilience and willingness to challenge themselves.
Beyond the classroom, students have demonstrated positive behaviours and a strong commitment to our school values. Many have participated in co‑curricular activities, supported one another and built strong friendships, helping to create a welcoming and inclusive year level.
This term, Year 7 students enthusiastically participated in the Swimming Carnival, Eastern Beach Excursion, and Athletics Carnival. Each event provided students with the opportunity to challenge themselves, build confidence and strengthen friendships in a fun and supportive environment.
The Year 7's are to be congratulated on their positive behaviour, teamwork and school spirit, proudly representing the school at each event. These excursions were a highlight of the term and contributed to a strong sense of connection across the Year 7 cohort.
We are proud of the progress Year 7 students have made this term and commend them for their effort and positive attitude. We look forward to seeing them continue to grow and succeed in term 2.
