Performing Arts

The Grade 3 students played a fun song, 'Birds Fly' jumping from middle to high C, noting that the lower C is a line note and the higher C lies in the space! Students enjoyed playing the keyboards, desk bells, marimbas and glockenspiels.  

The Grade 5 students played the C Major Scale on keyboards and tuned percussion with a melody named, 'Hello C' in different languages. Students were reminded to use good technique, using both the right and left hands, elbows raised if using mallets and flicking the keys to create a nice tone.  

 The Grade 6 students learnt the steps to the dance, 'The Celtic Ring' with partners in a circle formation. This dance originated from Ireland and involves movements with steps of 8. Students displayed an impressive example of stepping and clapping to the beat!
