Italian

Foundation students have been busy playing “Strega comanda colore”, a traditional Italian game used to learn colours. They also had the opportunity to practise colours during “Sardinia Day”, when they discovered some cultural aspects of Sardinia, the second largest Italian island. Finally, just in time for Mother’s Day week, they have started learning about the Italian word “mamma” and family members.

Students in Grades 1 and 2 have been learning more about Italy thanks to “Sardinia Day”, which is celebrated on April 28th and honours Sardinia, the second largest Italian island. We spoke about Italian history and learned a legend about the creation of Sardinia, which gave us the opportunity to explore our imagination and play with the shapes of both Australia and Sardinia. We are now practising common Italian questions to help us start everyday conversations in Italian.
