The lamps shine even brighter!
Here at St Joesph’s College, we have a great relationship with the lamp! St Brigid’s lamp of learning is an important part of our history, and something that we hold very dear to our hearts.
Next term, however, the light from a very different lamp will be shining!
We are very proud to bring to the stage, our very first production since pre-COVID times in the form of Disney’s Aladdin Junior!
A dedicated cast across both campuses have been rehearsing since early in first term and are starting to bring their characters to life as we prepare to share this classic tale with all of you.
The show will run for two evening performances on August 21 and 22. Tickets will be on sale from the beginning of next term.
With the production heading into its final months of preparation, everyone involved is working really hard to make the show something everyone can enjoy.
The actors are busy memorising their lines and practising their songs, while the dancers are rehearsing with Miss Ward every Tuesday and Thursday at lunch time.
In the backstage area, Trudy Barber is making some incredible, eye-catching sets that give the show lots of beautiful colour and atmosphere.
We are truly blessed to have her talent and generosity in this area! This Friday, we have a full day rehearsal where we will have our first opportunity to run every scene in the show, which is super exciting!
Please join us in this journey of courage, friendship, first love and just a little bit of Genie magic as we bring this classic story to life!
Meet some of the cast:
Year 12 student Yarran Jones will make his musical debut as ‘The Genie’ while Poppy Ferguson and Bodhi Griffiths will make their stage debuts as Aladdin and Princess Jasmine.
