Bentornati a tutti! (Welcome back everyone!)

Hope you all had a lovely end of term holiday break, enjoying time over Pasqua (Easter), with your famiglia (family) and amici (friends). 😀

Term 2 is always a busy one, (as they all are) but more so this term for Italian. There are some special dates coming up, (or just passed), that you may like to put in your diaries as a reminder:

  • sabato 25 aprile (Saturday 25 April), which just happened over this weekend - is not only a special day celebrated here in Australia, New Zealand, Turkey and France, as ANZAC day but in Italia it is a very important national holiday called la Festa della Liberazione, (Liberation Day). It is a day of celebration, similar to a "birthday" of freedom for the country. You will probably hear many people singing or playing the song Bella Ciao, throughout the day. Did you know that this song is about freedom and saying goodbye to loved ones to go and fight for a better world. 🙂

  • martedì 2 giugno (Tuesday 2nd June) - Festa della Repubblica / Italian National Day, more information on this later in the term.

  • martedì 16 giugno (Tuesday 16th June) - St Fidelis’ Giornata Italiana! - (St Fidelis’ Italian Day)! Yes, get ready to celebrate all things Italian on this day. At this stage, we will begin with our popular and colourful Italian parade. So if you haven’t done so already, perhaps start thinking about an Italian costume for your child/children to wear on the day. Let’s get those creative Italian themed ideas flowing! I look forward to seeing them on the day! 🤩

Until next time…buona settimana a tutti! (Have a good week everyone).
