Family Welcome night

Family Welcome Night was a wonderful success, even with the rain and chilly conditions. It was heartening to see so many families attending, demonstrating the strong sense of community that defines our school. I would like to extend my sincere thanks to our dedicated staff and the Parents’ Association, along with Jesse and his small team from BSC, for their hard work and organisation in making the evening so enjoyable Their efforts ensured a warm and welcoming atmosphere despite the weather, and we are truly grateful to everyone who attended and supported the event.

AEU Action

We sincerely thank our community for the strong support shown towards our teachers, education support staff, leaders and the broader profession during the recent industrial action day. Your flexibility and understanding in making alternative arrangements to support the AEU action on Tuesday March 24th was greatly appreciated.

School Council

Congratulations to our newly appointed School Council leaders on stepping into their roles for the year ahead. The leaders for the next 12 months are Dayna Rixon (President), Robert James (Vice President) and Jess Sayers (Treasurer).  This is a wonderful opportunity to represent our school families and make a meaningful contribution to our school community. I would also like to warmly welcome our new School Council members to the team, Anna Antonopoulos and Amy Armstrong. Tanja Russo also returns to council for another two-year term. We look forward to working together, hearing your ideas, and seeing the positive impact you will make throughout the year.

Easter Bonnet Parade

It was a delight to come together today to enjoy our Easter Bonnet Parade with staff, students, and families. The creativity and effort that went into designing the bonnets were truly impressive, and it was wonderful to see so many smiling faces despite the busy end-of-term period. Events like these highlight the joy, community spirit, and sense of belonging within our school, and we thank everyone who joined us to make the occasion so special.

Bundoora’s Got Talent

It was a pleasure to enjoy the incredible range of student performances at Bundoora’s Got Talent. Our students displayed outstanding creativity, confidence, and enthusiasm, making the event both entertaining and inspiring for all who attended. I would like to extend my sincere thanks to our Performing Arts teacher, Mrs Nerida Newell, for her dedication and hard work in organising such a successful event. Her efforts provided a wonderful platform for our students to shine and celebrate their talents.

Wishing Ms T all the best

We would like to wish the wonderful Ms T all the very best as she begins her family leave. While she will be greatly missed, we are excited for her as she embarks on this special new chapter. It was lovely to come together as a staff for a morning tea to celebrate and show our appreciation for all that she has contributed to our school. We also extend our sincere thanks to the parents who organised a thoughtful ‘mini baby shower’ at lunchtime with the students—such a kind gesture that truly reflects the caring and supportive spirit of our school community.

Welcome Mr Peter Whyte

We are delighted to welcome our new Art teacher, Mr Peter Whyte, to the school community. We look forward to the creativity and enthusiasm he will bring to our classrooms and specialist program. We are confident that our students will enjoy engaging in a range of inspiring art experiences under his guidance, and we wish him every success as he settles into our school.

Mr Jeremy Cass

It is with sadness that I announce that we must farewell our valued Education Support staff member, Mr Cass, and thank him for his outstanding contribution to our school over the past 16 years. His dedication and care, particularly through his work in Breakfast Club and the SEP program, have made a lasting difference to so many students and families. Mr Cass’s commitment, kindness, and steady presence will be greatly missed by all who have had the pleasure of working with him. As he moves on to an exciting new role in Wellbeing closer to home, we wish him every success and happiness in this next chapter.

As we come to the end of Term one, I would like to take a moment to celebrate the many achievements and efforts of our students, staff, and school community. It has been a busy and rewarding start to the year, filled with learning, growth, and memorable experiences.

I commend our students for their hard work, resilience, and positive attitude both inside and outside the classroom. I also extend my sincere thanks to our dedicated staff and supportive families who continue to contribute to a nurturing and inspiring learning environment.

I hope everyone enjoys a well-deserved break and returns refreshed and ready for an exciting Term two.

Warm regards, Sherrin Strathairn
