Senior School Celebrates

by Ms Jess Sheppard, Head of Senior School

As our Senior students have now headed off on their summer break for the year, we reminisce on all the wonderful events over the past month to celebrate their hard work and success in 2025.

Year 12 Valedictory

On Friday 21 November, Year 12 students, families and Box Hill High School staff gathered for our annual Valedictory Dinner. This year we celebrated at Caulfield Racecourse, where we were once again treated to a night of beautiful speeches, delicious dinners, spectacular views and dance floor memories. Students were presented with their Year 12 Certificates and gifts from the school, and our top academic performers from throughout the year were awarded with certificates of Academic Excellence. It was the perfect send off for our Year 12s, and I hope they very much enjoyed reflecting on and celebrating the end of their high school journey.

Year 11 Movie Night

On Monday 24 November, our Year 11s commenced their final week of school for the year with a celebratory movie night in the school hall. Students donned their comfiest attire and came prepared with endless snacks for a night of jump scares with a 90s classic. The Year 11 Movie Night was an inaugural event run by our Year 11 Leaders, who should be proud of organising such a fun and memorable activity for their cohort.

Year 11 Celebration Day

On Wednesday 26 November, the Year 11s had their celebration afternoon, which included a pizza lunch and the handing over of the Year 12 Study Centre to our Class of 2026. We hope you love your new space, and that you continue to make happy memories there over the course of the next 11 months. On behalf of the whole Senior School Team, we congratulate you on a BIG term, and we hope you have a relaxing and fun break before the next big year ahead.

I would like to thank the staff who make all these events possible. Without so much support from so many volunteering staff members we wouldn’t be able to run these important events for students, and we greatly appreciate their dedication and enthusiasm for improving belonging at Box Hill High School.

Finally, I wish our VCE students all the best for their Year 12 results, which come out on Thursday 11 December. We hope our 2025 Year 12s have a relaxing summer holiday before beginning their next chapter and we look forward to seeing our Year 11s back at school at the end of January, this time as Year 12s.
