School Uniform 2026
by Ms Shareen Bottrell, Assistant Principal
At Box Hill High School, we’re proud of the way our students present themselves both at school and on their way to and from school. Our school uniform plays an important part in this. It helps students take pride in their appearance, feel a strong sense of belonging, and be easily recognised as members of our amazing school community.
A reminder that Box Hill High School has a compulsory uniform policy. Students are expected to wear the full academic uniform each day, except during approved ‘free dress’ events or when they have a scheduled Physical Education (PE) or sports practical class.
On 2 April 2025, the Minister for Education announced upcoming changes to the Student Dress Code Policy for all Victorian state schools. These updates are designed to make school uniforms more affordable for families and will take effect from the start of 2026.
From the beginning of the 2026 school year, our school tracksuit pants and sports shorts will no longer include a brand logo. Students will also be able to wear non-branded sports shorts and tracksuit pants. This gives families more choice by purchasing items from our official uniform supplier, Bob Stewart, or choose generic options from other retailers, as long as they meet our approved style and colour guidelines.

After listening to valuable feedback from parents, students, and staff over the last two years, we’re pleased to let you know that our Box Hill High School spray jacket has been updated to a new soft-shell style (see photo). The spray jacket will no longer be sold but students are very welcome to keep wearing their current BHHS spray jackets as part of the uniform. This change has been carefully considered and supported by both the Uniform Committee and School Council.
