Wellbeing Update
by Ms Gemma Anderson, Student Wellbeing Leader (Acting)
Our 2026 Peer Support Leaders have been busy preparing for the new Year 7 students joining us next year. The leaders were selected through a rigorous interview process and undertook a full day training to identify how to use their leadership skills to support the Year 7s in their transition to high school. On Tuesday 25th November, they put their skills to the test hosting our incoming Year 7s for transition night. It was wonderful to see the leaders collaborate with each other and guide the Year 7s through a series of games to build connection.
A big thank you to Diana Ma and our wonderful placement students, Hazel and Wenxuan, who have guided our leaders through this process.
In week 10, the wellbeing team are running positive education days for Years 7 to 9 as part of the end of year program. Each year level will explore their positive education theme:
Year 7: Positive Relationships
Year 8: Gratitude
Year 9: Resilience
To view the vision statement for each year level, please visit our school website and the relevant year level’s page.
Specific information for students is available on teams and compass. Each year level’s day will consist of a guest speaker, classroom activities to facilitate discussion on their theme, and a chance for students to engage in wellbeing practices. We hope students are able to think deeply about their development throughout the year and identify practices they can implement in their daily lives to maintain positive wellbeing.
As we approach the holidays, we would like to share links to a range of services that can support families over the holidays, should they require it. These services are available to support young people and families at any time. Please don’t hesitate to make use of them if you or your child need assistance during the break.
