Philanthropy

Youth in Philanthropy

Members of our Youth in Philanthropy team, Leo Creaney, Pip Castaldo and Anna Isaac, were fortunate enough to be invited to the Lord Mayor’s Charitable Foundation’s Youth in Philanthropy Forum this month. The team heard incredibly interesting talks from program ambassador Aishah Brockhoff, Jaison Hoernel, CEO at Good Cycles and Hannah Lewis, Manager at Justice Connect Homeless Law. The day proved to be a highly inspirational for the team as they begin their Youth in Philanthropy this year. The program itself provides students with the opportunity of considering grant applications from charity groups and ultimately distributing $10,000 worth of funding. What an amazing experience!

Volunteer Tutoring Program 2024

Every Tuesday after a school a group of MGC students are out helping to make the world a better place!

We jump on the tram after school then walk down Lennox Street to a new space on the ground floor of the public housing. We spend an hour or so helping out primary school students from the local community with their Maths and English. It is such a rewarding and fun program. If you’d like to get involved, contact Mr. Sturgess.

A list of some of our legendary students who have helped out so far;
