Year 12 Art Creative Practice – Unit 4

Year 11 Art Creative Practice – Unit 2

This unit has focussed on ‘Collaboration’ as the key component of our artworks. Students have been working together in groups to produce experiments together that will result in a final piece of work that has contributions from everyone. Here are some of the experiments so far. 

Year 10 Art Creative Practice

Portraiture Studies:

With the help of our student teacher Ms Gin, our students have been developing skills in portraiture with an emphasis on the correct proportions and placement of facial features, as well as building up their understanding of tonal values, highlights and the importance of layering when painting a portrait. Here are some of their results so far, we hope you enjoy.

Found Object Sculpture

Our students have been studying topics of sustainability and portraiture since the start of Semester 2.  Our found object sculpture unit involved taking old, often discarded objects left collecting dust in an op shop and transforming them into a sculpture with an intended theme. The students loved the hands-on approach to this task as well as the opportunity to make a ‘trashed or forgotten’ object into something entirely different.

Year 7 Art

Our Year 7 students have been busy exploring the areas of painting and photography. We have looked at blending techniques and the mixing of colours, with the help of our student teacher Ms Gin. Students have then added their own personal touches to their work to truly make it their own and express their creativity. We have explored the darkroom with our photography and worked on showing ‘balance’ in our pre-tests and how to document our work in our visual diaries. We hope you enjoy some of the work so far.
