Group 4 

Term 3 has been very eventful for Group 4! Here are some of our highlights:

Science Week 

During Science week, Group 4 enjoyed a fun sensory experiment of making Oobleck together. The students explored the changes in texture and enjoyed getting hands-on with the experiment, some persevered through the mess using a spoon. Some students also learned how to plant beans using water, paper towels, and a zip-lock bag, giving them the opportunity to observe how plants begin to grow.

Book Week

It was wonderful to see all the students dressed up in different characters for Book Week. Throughout the week, we started each day by choosing different books to read. Many students also created sentence stories using pictures and experience their own story telling. Some students demonstrated increased confidence and engagement using their communication devices to label and comment during our book readings. 

Literacy and Numeracy Week/Father’s Day

As part of our literacy and numeracy activities, students enjoyed making paper pizzas. They practised requesting different toppings using gestures and visual choice boards while being introduced to new vocabulary. Students also developed their counting skills by counting the toppings on their pizzas. Group 4 also explored patterns in a variety of engaging ways. Some students experienced patterns through body movements, such as clapping and stomping, while others explored patterns using teddy counters and worksheets.

Many students enjoyed visiting the Father’s Day stall. They practiced making choices and developing their independence as they walked between different locations within the school.
