Group 8 

Group 8 has had a fantastic Term 3, full of learning, smiles and fun! We have been practising saying “hello” to our friends and staff throughout the day. Students have been encouraged to greet others using their individual communication modes, including verbal communication, gestures, signs and communication devices. We have continued learning about different feelings and emotions, exploring how we feel and how we can recognise emotions in ourselves and others.

Students have been given opportunities to communicate how they are feeling and practise identifying different emotions. Our read aloud sessions have been an important part of our learning this term. We have been exploring stories together and completing activities that connect directly to the books we read.

Students have been practising matching the same pictures, objects and characters from the stories, as well as participating in hands-on activities that help reinforce key concepts from each read aloud. These activities provide opportunities for students to engage with stories in meaningful and interactive ways. A highlight of our term was Book Week! We had a Book Week Parade with the other Early Years class', which the students thoroughly enjoyed. It was wonderful to see the students engage with their favourite books and characters in such a fun and interactive way. It has been wonderful to see our students participating, communicating and building confidence each day.
