Grade 1 News

In Literacy, we have been continuing to build our decoding and fluency skills exploring new sounds and words with two syllables. In writing, we have been learning about information reports and connecting this to Migaloo the Whale.  

Thank you to the children who have been consistently bringing in their readers to be changed on Monday and Wednesday. 

In Numeracy, we have been exploring repeating patterns and are finishing up this unit before beginning a unit on multiplication.  

In Religion, we are continuing to learn about Jesus’ parables. Students also enjoyed learning more about St. Mary Mackillop following our whole school mass on Friday last week.  

Awards 

We congratulate 1 Shannon and Keir/Waite for winning the Bernie Trophy in the past weeks and for showing our school values in and out of the classroom.  

Last week the following students also received achievement awards for this learning and positive choices,   Patrick, Liam, Michelle and Pippa.
