Performing Arts

Music is coming to life in the classes this term as students' knowledge of beat, rhythm and pitch is applied to playing melodies. I’m so proud to see you playing keyboard, Glockenspiels, Metallophones, Xylophones, Marimbas, Desk Bells and Chime Bars!
The chroma-note colours really help students learn how to play up and down the musical ladder!
Year 1
Students have used their knowledge of the Fruit and Vegetable Beats to learn the German traditional folk song, ‘Lightly Row.’
Year 2
The Year 2 students have been learning about Time Signature and just completed a Fruit and Vegetable Review which required them to work out how many beats were in each measure.
What clever work!
Year 3
Students in Year 3 played the nursery rhyme, ‘Mary Had a Little Lamb’ with a harmony to add texture to the sound. They enjoyed playing double notes with two hands!
Some more examples of the Year 6 students playing, ‘The Stars Wars main theme by the famous John Williams!
