Foundation News

In Literacy, we continue learning new sounds and building our list of tricky words.
Recent sounds include qu (as in queen), sh (as in shell), and ee (as in tree). Students have been busy applying these sounds in both reading and writing. Our tricky word list is growing, and students are now encouraged to practise Sets 1–7 in their home reading diaries alongside their home readers. Thank you to everyone remembering to return readers each Monday!
In Mathematics, we have started exploring measurement, comparing object lengths using language like shorter, taller, and longer.
At home you might like to challenge your child to find an item that is longer or shorter than a chosen object. For example: Start with an item such as a cereal box. Model finding an item that is shorter and an item that is longer.
Last week, Foundation students enjoyed their 100 Days of School Celebration!
It was a joyful day filled with creative activities all about 100 and a wonderful way to celebrate how far our students have come.
Thank you to all families for your support and the fantastic outfits!
