Sustainability

The sustainability team has been thinking of things that we would like to do to improve the sustainability of our school.

Each class has a composting system.   Instead of throwing food scraps like apple cores, banana peels, and veggie bits into the bin, we’re collecting them for compost and for our hungry chooks. This helps reduce waste and creates rich soil to use in our school garden beds. It’s a fun and hands-on way for students to learn about sustainability—and our plants are already loving it!

If you have any bread scraps that you would like to send along with your child to give to our chooks, please feel free to do so.

“It’s cool to see our lunch scraps turn into something that helps the garden grow,” said Ivy in Year 3. “It feels good to help the Earth!”
