Design & Technologies

Foundation students have started to be exposed to the Tablets and working closely with Miss Lamb who brings some friends along to ensure each Foundation students has 1 on 1 technology support. Over a 3 week rotate each Foundation students will work with Grade 5 Bell and Miss Lamb on how to log in, navigate the home screen and take photos and edit them.  

 Junior Students have been designing, creating and making a range of things with paper following a design brief. Student have made paper aero planes, tested and decorated them.  

Middle Students have been using block coding to create a program that their Sphero Robot must follow and return back to them. Sphero’s, are a robotic ball controlled through tablets, they can be driven like a video or coded by students. As you can imagine they are a much loved resources in our school.  

Seniors Students have also been using the Sphero robot. Senior students are getting great at block coding so to up the stakes we have been having a range of challenges. The favourite has been the one-on-one battles where one robot driven by a student need to pop the balloon of another student to be deemed the winner.... Full Gladiator style.
