Year 5 Immersion Day – A Day of Discovery and Wonder

Our Year 5 students had an absolutely wonderful experience during our Bundoora Secondary College Immersion Day, enjoying a fantastic range of learning experiences that brought curiosity, creativity and excitement into every part of the day.

Students had the opportunity to explore Virtual Reality (VR), stepping into new environments and experiencing learning in a completely different way. Our Science and Environmental Science session encouraged students to ask questions, investigate, make observations and develop a deeper understanding of the world around them. In Mathematics, students were challenged to think creatively, solve problems and apply their mathematical knowledge in engaging and practical ways.

The excitement continued with Sport, where students were able to be active, work as a team, develop their skills and, most importantly, have fun with their classmates. Across every session, students demonstrated enthusiasm, curiosity and a willingness to try something new.

What made the day particularly special was seeing the students so engaged in their learning. Their excitement, laughter, questions and conversations showed how much they valued the opportunity to learn beyond the traditional primary classroom setting. The variety of experiences allowed every student to find something that sparked their interest and encouraged them to see learning from a new perspective as they start thinking about secondary schools.

It was truly a day of discovery, exploration and fun, and our Year 5 students embraced every moment. We are incredibly proud of the way they participated, challenged themselves and supported one another throughout the day.
