Congratulations, Mrs Julie Dunn!

Congratulations to Mrs Julie Dunn, who was recently presented with her 35-Year Service Certificate in recognition of her outstanding commitment to education.

Thirty-five years of service is a wonderful achievement and reflects Julie’s dedication, care and contribution to the many students, families and colleagues she has supported throughout her career.

We are very fortunate to have Julie as part of the Bundoora Primary School community. Please join us in congratulating Julie on this fantastic milestone!

Celebrating Principal’s Day

On Friday, 7 August, Ms Strathairn and Mrs Dunn were delighted to celebrate Principal’s Day with the Bundoora Primary School community.

We were overwhelmed by the kindness and thoughtfulness shown by our students and staff, who created so many wonderful homemade cards, posters and messages and took the time to present them to us.

We would like to sincerely thank everyone who contributed to making the day so special. Your thoughtful gestures, kind words and creativity were very much appreciated and made us both feel incredibly valued.

Farewell to Mrs Allibon

After many wonderful years at Bundoora Primary School, Mrs Penny Allibon will be retiring at the end of this term.

Mrs Allibon has made a significant contribution to our school community, particularly through her work in the Art Room and Library, and she will be greatly missed by our students, staff and families.

Over the coming weeks, Mrs Allibon will be enjoying her final classes in the Art Room with our Year 5 and 6 students. We look forward to celebrating her contribution and giving her a very special farewell before the end of term.

We wish Mrs Allibon all the very best for her retirement and thank her for the many years of care, creativity and dedication she has given to our school.

A Visit from Our Area Executive Director

It was a pleasure to welcome Joanne Marshall, our Area Executive Director, to Bundoora Primary School recently. We were fortunate to have the opportunity to show Joanne around our wonderful school and share some of the great things happening across our community.

Joanne was very impressed with our school, our students and the positive learning environment we have created. It was a wonderful opportunity to showcase the pride we have in Bundoora Primary School and the work of our dedicated staff.

We look forward to welcoming Joanne back again in the future!

Sharing Our SWPBS Journey

Ms Strathairn was fortunate to have the opportunity to present to the Principal Network last week, alongside the Principals from Diamond Creek Primary School and Heidelberg Primary School.

Together, we shared the work we have been undertaking through our School-Wide Positive Behaviour Support (SWPBS) Community of Practice, which brings our three schools together to share ideas, strategies, successes and challenges.

It was a wonderful opportunity to showcase the work happening at Bundoora Primary School and to learn from other schools as we continue to strengthen our approach to positive behaviour and wellbeing.

We are proud of the progress we have made with SWPBS and look forward to continuing this valuable collaboration with our partner schools.

Our Bundoora Behaviour Expectations

We are very proud of the way our students continue to embrace our three Bundoora behaviour expectations:

These simple expectations underpin the positive culture we are building across our school. We are particularly proud of the calm and orderly environment that our students contribute to each day.

A big thank you also goes to our teachers and Education Support staff for the work they do to create calm, structured and purposeful classrooms where students know what is expected and can focus on their learning.

Creating a positive learning environment takes consistency from everyone, and it is wonderful to see our students demonstrating these expectations in their classrooms, in the yard and throughout our school. We are very proud of our Bundoora students and the positive culture we are continuing to build together.

Best Wishes to Mrs Samantha Anderson

We would like to wish Mrs Samantha Anderson and her husband all the very best as Samantha finishes up with us next week in preparation for the arrival of their baby.

Our staff celebrated with Samantha at a baby shower on Thursday, 13 August, and her 12B students will also hold a small celebration next Thursday before Samantha finishes up the week.

We are very excited for Samantha and her family as they begin this wonderful new chapter. We will certainly miss Samantha while she is away and look forward to hearing the happy news when their little one arrives.

We also look forward to welcoming Mr Peter Whyte, who will be taking over in 12B while Samantha is on leave. We know Peter will be a wonderful addition to the classroom and look forward to supporting him as he gets to know our students and school community.

Wishing Our Families a Wonderful Weekend

As we come to the end of another busy and productive week, I would like to thank our students, staff and families for their continued support and contribution to our wonderful school community.
