Celebrating Our Student Support Group Meetings

Over the past week, our school community has once again demonstrated the power of partnership through our Student Support Group (SSG) meetings.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to the many families, students, teachers, education support staff, and allied health professionals who took the time to attend and contribute to these important conversations. The level of commitment shown by everyone involved reflects our shared belief that every student deserves the opportunity to thrive.

Our SSG meetings provide a valuable opportunity to reflect on student goals, celebrate progress, and identify the next steps in each learner's journey. It has been incredibly rewarding to hear students share their achievements, talk about their learning experiences, and proudly recognise the growth they have made over time. These moments remind us that student voice is an essential part of successful learning and wellbeing outcomes.

Across the week, we heard stories of increased independence, improved communication skills, academic growth, developing friendships, and personal achievements both at school and at home. Every milestone, whether large or small, represents the collective efforts of students, families, and staff working together towards common goals.

What stood out most was the positive and collaborative spirit present in every meeting. Families shared valuable insights, staff celebrated successes and reflected on effective strategies, and together we planned for continued growth and support. These partnerships are at the heart of what makes our school community so strong.

We are proud of the progress our students are making and grateful for the trust, openness, and dedication shown by all involved. Thank you for your ongoing commitment to supporting our learners and helping them achieve their personal best.

Together, we continue to create a school environment where every student is known, valued, supported, and empowered to succeed.

Student Voice Through the Attitudes to School Survey

This term, many of our Years 4-9 students participated in the Attitudes to School Survey, providing valuable feedback about their experiences at Saltwater P–9 College. The survey gives students an opportunity to share their views on areas such as learning, wellbeing, student relationships, and their sense of belonging at school. Their feedback helps us better understand student experiences and informs our ongoing work to enhance teaching, learning, and wellbeing across the College. We thank all our senior students who took the time to contribute their thoughts and perspectives.

Student Semester One Reporting Update

Semester One student reports will be available via XUNO from 5:00pm on Wednesday 24 June. Reports will continue to provide information about student achievement against the Victorian Curriculum Achievement Standards. However, due to industrial action undertaken in line with Australian Education Union recommendations, reports may not include descriptive comments. Some teachers may choose to provide comments. We look forward to discussing your child’s learning and progress further at our Term Three Three-Way Conferences on July 28 for Primary and July 29 for secondary. Thank you for your understanding and ongoing support.

Term 3 Three-Way Conferences

We look forward to welcoming students and families to our Term 3 Three-Way Conferences, which will be held on Tuesday 28 July (Primary) and Wednesday 29 July (Secondary). Three-Way Conferences provide an important opportunity for students, families and teachers to come together to discuss learning progress, celebrate achievements, and set goals for continued growth. By including students in these conversations, we encourage them to take ownership of their learning and reflect on their successes and next steps.

To accommodate the conferences, students will be dismissed at 12:00pm on their respective conference day. Further information regarding bookings and conference schedules will be communicated early next term. We encourage all families to attend and look forward to partnering with you to support your child's learning journey.

Thank you for your continued support.
