Level 1

Book Week
This year our Book Week parade was a sea of colour with wonderful book characters reflecting students love for books. We were also fortunate enough to have author Andrea Rowe come and speak to us about her books including Jetty Jumping and Castle Crashing. After reading the story Castle Crashing about showing kindness to ourselves and each other when big feelings threaten to overwhelm us, students created their own colourful sandcastle.
Numeracy
Who knew playing in the sandpit and learning about capacity could be so much fun? Students have been predicting, measuring, testing and problem solving as they learn about capacity. They also used the language of full, empty, more, less and same when explaining their findings and to help solve challenges comparing containers.
