Father’s Day Breakfast & Open Classrooms 

What a huge turnout we had for our Father’s Day Breakfast and Open Classrooms! It was wonderful to see so many dads/special friends, children and families enjoying the morning together, socialising and connecting with our school community.

We really appreciated all the dads/special friends who took the time and made the effort to join us. It was fantastic to see so many smiling faces around the school!

A special thank you to TeamKids for providing breakfast and helping make the morning such a success.

We're proud of our 2026 Attitudes to School Survey results!

Our students have spoken, and the results are fantastic! This survey is completed by our Level 4–6 students. Across almost every measure, HEPS students report feeling more engaged, motivated and supported than students at Similar Schools, across our Network and across the state.

Students told us they feel highly motivated and interested in their learning, get plenty of effective teaching time, and feel genuinely cared for by their teachers — with 97% agreeing their teachers hold high expectations for their success, and 91% feeling they have an advocate at school. Our students also feel a strong sense of belonging, with 92% reporting a sense of inclusion.

These results reflect what we see every day: happy, engaged students who love being part of the HEPS community. A huge thank you to our staff, students, and families for creating such a positive school culture.

School Uniform Supplier Survey

As our current school uniform supplier contract with Spartan School World is due to expire, we are beginning the process of reviewing our uniform arrangements for the future. We would appreciate feedback from our parent and carer community about your experience with our current uniform supplier, including quality, range, value for money, availability, ordering and customer service. 

Your feedback will help inform the review and ensure that any future uniform arrangements continue to meet the needs of our students and families.

Please take a few minutes to complete the survey – your feedback is valued and will help shape our decision-making. The survey is available until Monday 7th September 3pm.

Book Parade - That was fun!

Last week, we celebrated Book Week with our much-loved Book Parade. Our students looked fantastic as they dressed up as their favourite book characters as part of this year’s theme, “Symphony of Stories”. We were also excited to welcome children’s author Andrea Rowe, who spent the day working with our students and sharing her love of stories and writing. It was a fantastic day celebrating books, reading and storytelling!

State Netball Finals

Congratulations to our amazing girls’ netball team! What an incredible effort at the State Netball Finals. The girls won most of their games and should be so proud of their performance. Unfortunately, they didn’t progress to the finals, but what an achievement to make it this far! Well done, girls!

Kids in Space 

On Tuesday, selected Grade 6 students represented our school at the Kids in Space Showcase.

Over the past 10 weeks, students have followed the design thinking process to respond to the challenge of “bettering the life of an astronaut in space.” They designed, ideated, created 3D-printed prototypes and presented their ideas to a panel for judging and feedback.

We are incredibly proud of their creativity, collaboration and effort throughout the program. 

Tee-ballers Regional finals 

Congratulations to our girls’ Tee-ball team, who finished 5th at the Regional level! An outstanding effort from the whole team. Well done, girls! 

Term 3 Three-Way Conferences- Next week

A reminder that Three Way Conferences will occur next week.

Sports Day Lunch & Wear Your Favourite Sports Clothes

A reminder to order your Sports Day lunch before Wednesday 9 September.

Don’t forget to wear your favourite sports or footy clothes on the last day of Term 3! We look forward to seeing everyone getting into the sporting spirit!

Consent and Payment – Compass

This is a reminder that consent and payment is required a week before for excursions/incursions and 4 weeks for camp. In adherence to our school policy, students who have not finalised payment by the required date will not be allowed to attend unless the principal determines an exceptional circumstance. If you have any issues paying for these activities or are under financial hardship, then please speak to the school prior to the due date. In recognition of the additional hours that our teaching staff put into organising these extracurricular activities available to your child/ren, we would appreciate you adhering to these deadlines.

2027 Student Numbers

As shared in the last newsletter, planning for the 2027 school year is now underway. To assist this process, we ask that families let the school know as soon as possible if your child or children will not be returning to HEPS in 2027. 

Supervision from 8.45 am

A reminder that students should not be at school before 8.45 am. There has been an increase in the number of students arriving without parents before this time, meaning that they are unsupervised. We kindly remind families that unaccompanied students should not be at school before 8.45am and if you need care prior to this time, TeamKids is available.

Working Bee- Save the date- Sunday, 13th September 

Our Term 3 Working Bee for 2026, happening on Sunday, 13th September 

Over the past few years, we’ve been thrilled to see such fantastic turnouts at our Working Bees. There is always plenty to do, so feel free to come along for an hour or stay for the whole morning, any help is appreciated.

We will also have a BBQ and ice cream for both adults and children to enjoy.

The Smile Squad team from Each is running a free school holiday pop-up clinic for children enrolled in government schools — offering dental check-ups, preventive care, and any necessary treatment.
