Level 4

What a busy time we have had in the past two weeks! And what a lot of fun it has been!

On Wednesday 19th August, level 4 went to our school Athletics Day. The students went off dressed in their house colours under a grey and murky sky. Undeterred by the weather we were able to compete in many of the events until finally, at lunchtime, the weather was too wet to continue. Despite the rain we had a lot of fun and excitement and many students came back proudly sporting ribbons for their efforts. We were very proud of our cohort who participated eagerly, did their very best and demonstrated great sportsmanship in supporting others.

This week has been a celebration of literacy activities with our annual participation in Children’s Book Week activities. We had story telling at Assembly, and great excitement participating in the Book Character Parade. Costumes were amazing and demonstrated how many different books our students have read. We read stories from Australian authors and were lucky enough to meet Andrea Rowe, an author who inspired us to be an author and gave us great strategies we could use. 

Numeracy

We have been studying statistics, in particular looking at graphing data, types of graphs and their features. 

Literacy

The cohort has been enjoying ‘Book Club’ activities and the opportunity to share their thoughts and discuss the features of a shared novel. We have been learning how to write an explanation and linking this to our research for our Inquiry unit which has a focus on Geography.
