Mid Winter Concert

A Night of Growth, Talent, and Heartfelt Performances

The Annual Mid-Winter Music Concert was a memorable celebration of musical progress and passion, showcasing the vibrant talent within our school community. The night opened with an energetic performance by the Stage Band, who set the tone with How Sweet It Is, featuring Anthony Chisholm on vocals, followed by a soulful rendition of Valerie with Lillian Wilson taking the lead.

The Beginner Band impressed in their debut performance with resounding renditions of familiar tunes such as London Bridge, Hot Cross Buns, Hard Rock Blues, and Jingle Bells. Their confident playing marked a proud milestone and set an enthusiastic tone for the evening.

Adding a contrasting but equally moving moment, Year 11 student Cameron Sgarioto delivered a sombre yet beautiful performance of Holst's ‘In the Bleak Mid-Winter’ alongside teacher Keyna MacPhee. Their expressive collaboration deeply resonated with listeners, capturing the contemplative mood of the season.

Despite being down in numbers due to several Covid cases, the Concert band rose to the challenge and delivered a very impressive performance. Their resilience and dedication were evident, proving that even in difficult circumstances, great music and teamwork prevail.

The energy lifted again with the Symphonic Band's fantastic and uplifting medley of Billy Joel classics. Their dynamic execution brought a joyful and spirited close to the concert, reminding everyone of the power of music to unite and inspire.

The concert's thoughtful design truly highlighted the growth of skills and development across all levels making it not just a performance, but a vivid demonstration of progress and dedication.

We hope everyone can join us for the End of Year Concert in November!
