The college had six students travel to MSAC very early on the 22nd April. Each student participated in a diving clinic before competing in the Southern Metropolitan Region diving competition. Harry B, Evie and Harry H placed in the SMR round, sending them straight through to the state finals that afternoon. Adam and Parker did not place in the SMR round but were the top two divers outside placings, seeing them also go through to the state finals.

In the state finals Harry H had two spectacular dives, resulting in him coming home with a bronze medal!

Did you know that Sandringham College has surfing teams!?

These students had a huge day trip to Phillip Island and took on some challenging waves at Woolamai Beach against tough competition.

The college entered two teams; mixed and all girls. The teams competed in a relay style event where each surfer had approximately 8 minutes to catch two waves and then run to the beach to tag the next surfer and so on. We received 5 bonus points if the whole team got through in less than the allotted time.

Our mixed team is in the top six schools in the state and our girls team are now the proud owners of bronze medals, placing third!

Each surfer was exemplary. Miss Thompson and Ms Carter couldn't be more proud!

Payment/permission reminder

  • It is of vital importance that the deadline for Compass payment and permissions are adhered to. Sport events have a three business day cut off prior to the event.
  • Reminder emails are sent home to families and students are reminded by their coaches. Extensions are granted for extenuating circumstances but this is rare.
  • Payments and permissions will NOT be taken on the day.

If you would like more information about this or have any concerns, please email the Sports Coordinator, Erin Carter.
