441 Murray St Update

New campus coming soon

The wait is almost over!

Western Power remain on track for their current electrical works at 441 Murray Street – AngliSchools House. The furniture is ordered and will be delivered over the July School Holidays. Classes will commence for all students at our new school site from the start of Term Three 2025.

Timetables

Student Timetables from the start of Term Three will note clearly whether student classes are at Murray Street (MS) or at William Street (WS). Most Science, Dance, Drama, Music, Food Technology and Maths Classes will all take place at 441 Murray Street.

Walking route

Both students and staff will be walking between the two sites; just as we do now between 50 William Street and 10 William Street.

The walking route between the two sites will be to cross William Street at the Pedestrian Lights onto Hay Street. To walk on the right-hand side down Hay Street to Milligan Street. To turn right at Milligan Street and then right again into Murray Street. The entry to the school is adjacent to The Quest Hotel located on the corner of Milligan and Murray Street. This walking route ensures that there are no roads to cross and keeps us all walking between our two campus sites on a wide footpath for the safety and security of all users of the city. Teachers and members of the Senior Executive Team will accompany Year 7 students for the first few weeks of Term Three until they are ready to walk as a class group.

Canteen

The canteen will be operational at both campus sites and run by our current Canteen Manager, Mr Ohm Thongkham. Students will have the ability to choose to stay at either site for recess or lunchtime depending on the nature of their timetable.

Lockers

Year 12 lockers will be allocated to Level 1 at 441 Murray Street. Additional ‘day lockers’ will also be available for students to access through the Student Services Reception Desk at both 441 Murray Street and 50 William Street depending on individual student need.

Summary

The walking route is approximately 650m and takes seven minutes door to door. This was the rationale for adding the 10-minute transition time to our timetable structure for 2025. PCG time will continue for this year to take place at 50 William Street; although next year it is likely that both Cowan House and Lincoln House will have their PCG time at 441 Murray Street.

Whilst we know that we may need to tweak some of our considerations and planning as we begin to use the two campuses, we are excited about the move. As we transverse between the two campus sites we are bringing our tag line of the city is our campus very much alive.

There will be an opportunity for parents to tour 441 Murray Street prior to the Parents Sundowner on Tuesday 16 September – please note this date in your diaries now. Invitations will be sent out nearer to the time.
