We warmly invite all Year 10 students and their families to our upcoming Year 10 Information Evening, taking place on Monday, 9 June from 6pm to 7:30pm. This important event is designed to support families as students begin planning their senior secondary journey.
On the night, we will outline the subject selection process, explore student pathways, and provide guidance on selecting the most suitable WACE pathway for each of our Year 10 students. There will be a clear explanation of WACE requirements, the differences between ATAR, APEx and VET pathways, and how students can align their choices with their goals, interests, and strengths.
This evening provides a valuable opportunity for students and parents to ask questions, seek clarification, and ensure decisions made for Years 11 and 12 for them to set a strong foundation for future success—whether that’s university, TAFE, apprenticeships, or direct entry into the workforce.
During the evening, families will also receive access to our Subject Selection Handbook, which outlines all course offerings and relevant prerequisites for Year 11 2026. The subject selection process will begin in Term 3.
We also invite parents and carers to come into the school on Thursday, 12 June at 3pm for an informal chat over tea and scones with our senior academic staff.
You can find out more about the curriculum and raise any issues or concerns with our Heads of Learning Areas and members of the Executive team. This Academic Afternoon Tea and Chatter runs from 3pm to 4pm on Level 4 of 50 William St.
As we pass the midpoint of Term Two, it is time for our Year 7 and 8 students to begin thinking about their Semester Two elective choices. This is an exciting opportunity for students to explore new interests, develop different skills, and engage with areas they are passionate about. This week, I met with all Year 7 and 8 students to explain the elective selection process and distribute the Elective Preferences Form, which should now have reached you at home, to be discussed and signed by a parent or guardian.
Please note the following submission deadlines for
Year 7 and 8 electives:
Some subjects have limited class sizes, so preferences will be allocated on a first in, best dressed basis. While we do our very best to ensure each student is placed in their first or second preference, it is important that forms are returned by the due date. Students who do not submit their form by the deadline will be placed into available classes and will need to go through the subject change process in Term 3 if adjustments are required. Copies of the elective forms are attached for your convenience.
A huge congratulations to our Year 11 and 12 students for completing their Semester One ATAR examinations over the past fortnight. We commend their commitment and effort during this challenging period. Students will receive their results during Weeks 8 and 9, along with detailed feedback from their teachers designed to guide their growth and academic development moving forward.
Should any Year 11 student wish to make a subject change—whether in an ATAR or APEx course—they are welcome to book an appointment with either myself or Mrs Sharan Tagore from the beginning of Week 8. Please note that all subject changes must be finalised by Friday, 8 August.
