Gandhi House
It has been a very busy start to the term for the Houses. During the recent House Week during Week 4, Gandhi placed third overall, but what truly stood out was the incredible participation and enthusiasm from all the Gandhi Students. Whether it was diving into the fast-paced action of pickleball, showing creativity in the colouring-in competition, or teaming up for the mega house quiz, Gandhi students gave it their all and represented the house with pride and unity.
Our consistent efforts throughout the year have put us in a strong position for the House Shield standings, currently sitting second overall. With very few points separating the top three houses, it’s still anyone’s game! Looking ahead to Term 3, we need everyone to get involved and give their best in the upcoming Athletics Carnival, Battle of the Bands, and the Term 3 House Week. Every contribution matters and I can’t wait to see how the rest of the year pans out because it is so very close between all three houses.
During Week 5, we also had a House Assembly to celebrate all the recent House events across the school. During this time, we awarded our Senior and Junior Gandhite’s of the Month. Our Junior Gandhite of the Month is Sarinah Sugden, for stepping in last minute to join our Interhouse Drama team and absolutely smashing it on stage in front of hundreds of people with little preparation. Our Senior Gandhite of the Month is Oliver Bratley, for his incredibly care and compassion in his role as Gandhi 9 PCG representative, continually going above and beyond to bring his PCG together. Congratulations to both of these amazing students, we are so lucky to have you in Gandhi House.

Lincoln House
Last week all Houses competed in our termly House Week competition, which was held in our Pastoral and Wellbeing Session (PAWS), for both our junior and senior school students. The activities available to participate in this term were pickleball, a quiz and a colouring-in competition. The participation for each event from all Houses was terrific.
I would like to thank all the Lincoln students who submitted work into the colouring in competition where Sophia Bowser in Year 12 took first place, securing us second place over all for House week. The current standings are very close, and we need to ensure that we are getting as many House tokens as possible into the jar before the end of the term to swing the points in our favour.
Lincoln Charity Day is fast approaching at the end of this term, and this year we will be at Wellington Square for an afternoon of fun activities and the opportunity to purchase snacks and dessert from food vans. We will once again be fundraising for ‘headspace’, in particular our local headspace Centre – headspace Osborne Park.
More information regarding the activities available on Charity Day as well as how to donate will be available on the school notices soon. ‘headspace’ is Australia’s National Youth Mental Health Foundation, providing early intervention mental health services to 12–25 year olds. ‘headspace' plays a pivotal role in the lives of many young Australian’s and I look forward to your assistance in helping headspace Osborne Park continue to support out local community.

Mandela House
It’s hard to believe there are now only three weeks remaining in the term.
Week 4 saw the return of our House Week, a highlight of each term that brings our House spirit to life through friendly competition. This term, students competed in Pickleball, a Colouring-In Competition, and the Mega House Quiz. We’re thrilled to share that Mandela came out on top in both Pickleball and the Mega Quiz and secured a strong second place in the Colouring Competition. These fantastic results earned Mandela the overall victory for Term 2 House Week – congratulations to all students who got involved and helped lead us to this well-deserved win!
In addition to House Week, PCGs have been participating in our Weekly Mandela PCG Quiz Competition. This weekly challenge has been a great way to foster some friendly rivalry within the House. As of the end of Week 5, it’s an incredibly close contest: Ms Bauers M1 is narrowly in the lead with 59 points, closely followed by Ms Watson’s M8 and Mr Edwards’ M9 on 58 points. With a few weeks still to go, there’s plenty of time for any PCG to climb the leaderboard – so keep showing up to PCG on time and getting involved.
With so many events already under our belt this year, Mandela is currently leading the overall House points tally across the school – an outstanding achievement that reflects the dedication, enthusiasm and teamwork of our students.
A special thank you to our House Captain, Zuri Hawkins, and Prefect, Amelie McKeon, for their continued leadership and support throughout the term. Your passion and positivity have truly helped drive our success. Let’s keep the momentum going as we head into the final stretch of Term 2 – Go Mandela!
