Performing Arts

Hi Everyone!

What a great start to the school year! 2026!

This year, we are very lucky to have Mrs Morgan King on the Performing Arts team as well!

At the start of Term One, we introduced the School Wide Positive Behaviours and the five Student Attributes through ice breaking drama games. All Performing Arts students created their colourful front covers for their Arts Journals, which highlights the five Student Attributes of being Communicators, Curious, Resilient, Responsible and Reflective.

At the end of their first Performing Arts lesson all students committed to being Safe, Kind and Respectful in Performing Arts by signing their names onto the words and it looks beautiful!

Foundation

Foundation students have started to learn about their expressive skills (body movements, facial expressions, hand gestures and voice) and will be learning a lot more about how to express different characters and situations this term.

Year One and Two

Year One and Two students have started to explore different Fairy Tales. They created movements and freeze frames for different Fairy Tale characters. See if you can guess which type of fairy tale characters they are expressing in their freeze frames…

Year Three and Four

Year Three and Four students are doing Scripted Plays this term. Year Threes have started reading ‘Treasure Hunt’ and Year Fours will read the ‘Tingaling Contest’. We have been focusing on articulating their big loud voices and using their facial expressions and hand gestures while reading the script. Eventually, the aim will be to memorise their character’s lines so they can focus more on their expressive skills when they perform their plays to a younger audience.

Year Five and Six

Year Five and Six students have been introduced to their exciting new unit - Clowning! Students learnt about the theatre techniques - mime and melodrama - and used them throughout a Clowning workshop where they were introduced to the two Clown types (Auguste and White Face). They have also started planning their BIG ENTRANCE and INTRODUCTION for their clowning routines.

Dance Club

We’re also very excited to announce that ‘Dance Club’ will be running again this year and is open to all students from Year One to Five.

Please join us every Wednesday at lunch time at 1:30pm in the Performing Arts room where we will move to the latest groove!

We can’t wait to see what creativity 2026 brings at ENPS!
