Principal's Message

What a couple of weeks at ENPS!
There has been so much going on in and around our classrooms. We’ve had the Year Four to Six Swimming Carnival, our first senior and junior school assemblies and even recognised and celebrated our Student of the Week ‘lunch with the principal’ recipients for 2026!
As a part of our school wide positive behaviour and wellbeing strategy, last Thursday I got to have lunch with Tamar (1AM) and Jack (FTW), our first F-2 junior school recipients, with their friends Billy and Leo. This week I had lunch with Aaliyah (3KO) and Jack (3SM) and their friends Peyton and Leandro. This initiative is a part of our Student of the Week awards, and recognises the safe, kind and respectful efforts of students in their home groups and in specialist classes. Each week at our assembly, two names will be drawn out from those who have received recognition for being safe, kind and/or respectful in specialist classes. The prize being a free two course lunch order from Classroom Cuisine and lunch with the Principal. It really is the highlight of my week!
Swimming Carnival
Last week our Year Four to Six students participated in our swimming carnival. It was a great day and congratulations to Wiin House as the 2026 Swimming Champions! A huge shout out to our House Team Captains who were absolutely incredible leaders throughout the day! They certainly raised the bar on the cheering! We now have 37 students competing in the District Swimming Carnival next Wednesday 25th February at Keilor Park Leisure Centre. We wish them all luck and are super proud of their efforts as representatives of our school.
Communication with Families
Clear and transparent communication with families is paramount for us at ENPS and is seen as a shared responsibility. For this purpose we request that families make sure they are checking our Compass updates regularly, as our primary platform for all communication.
Year Level Information Flyers
Starting this week, you will see that our year level teams have started sending home their Unit of Inquiry flyers. Our teaching teams put a huge amount of work into these flyers to provide parents and carers with an insight into the learning and teaching happening in classrooms for the upcoming unit. These flyers also include key year level information, along with specific strategies for supporting your child's learning at home. Please ensure you take the time to read through these.
Home and School Partnership Meetings
The Home and School Partnership meetings are next Monday and are fantastic opportunity for families and teachers to connect. A huge thank you to all of our families who have already booked in using Compass and thank you in advance for your support. Your support of an early dismissal makes these meetings possible. Our partnership with you at home is integral to support your child’s learning growth and development and we truly value your support. At these meetings your child’s teacher will share their academic and attendance data with you, along with ways you can help support their learning at home. If you aren’t able to make the home and school partnership meeting with your child’s teacher, please contact them directly to make a time soon.
School Council
We had a wonderful School Council meeting this week. You would have seen that we have sent out a ‘call for nominations’ to be a part of School Council for 2026. Check out the School Council section for more information. Make sure you come along to the Community Picnic this afternoon and meet our School Councillors!
Start of Year Community Picnic
I am looking forward to seeing everyone this afternoon at our Start of Year Community Picnic. Our ENPS School Council host this event and everyone is welcome. Bring a picnic dinner, a picnic blanket, chairs and enjoy an afternoon chatting to other parents and staff, while the kids play together. There is no cost involved and you can stay for as long or little amount of time as you like!
Crazy Hair Day - Thank you!
A personal thank you to everyone who has help support our Crazy Hair Day today to raising money for our former student, Hamish Howe, who is fighting a battle with brain cancer. Collectively we raised $1378.05 in cash and coins today! We also know multiple families have contributed directly to the Go Fund Me page for Hamish. We send our love and support to Hamish, along with Annabelle, Jess and Hamish's family. We hope our funds raised today help even just a little to support your fight. We are all thinking of you!
Have a wonderful weekend and see you all at the picnic!
