Once again, the amazing Koonung choir led by Penny Lathem sung at the Box Hill RSL ANZAC Day Schools Service. Our school captains, Renos Vassiliades and Latitia Moar, laid a wreath at the cenotaph alongside many other schools in the area.
Koonung Secondary also had our own ANZAC Day ceremony with guest speaker National Serviceman Richard Tregear addressing the students and our own Language and Culture Captain, Steph Barnes, who gave a wonderful memorial address. This year our beautiful wreath was provided by Misty Flora (past parent).

Koonung is participating in the 2026 Push Up Challenge!
The Push-Up Challenge is Australia's largest mental health and fitness event. Each year, hundreds of thousands of Australians take up the challenge to complete a set number of push-ups that represent the number of lives lost to suicide in Australia in the most recent year of available data. This year we will be taking on 3,307 push-ups over 24 days, to honour the 3,307 lives lost to suicide in Australia in 2024.
Koonung participates to help raise awareness for better mental health for all Australians. Daily push-up targets relating to an important Mental Health Fact are provided, however you don't have to be a push-up pro to participate. Push-ups can be substituted with sit-ups, squats or tailored exercises. You can also aim for half the push-up target.
A ‘community’ will be created for Koonung, in which you can sign up solo or get a group together!
Let's push for better, together as a community.
The Challenge dates: 3-26 JUNE 2026
More information will be released, closer to the date regarding signing up to participate!!
