Reconciliation Action Plan

Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) Published!
We are pleased to share that our school’s Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) has now been officially published and is available to view on the Narragunnawali platform.
The RAP can be accessed by staff and community members through the Narragunnawali dashboard:
https://www.narragunnawali.org.au/
This milestone reflects our ongoing commitment to strengthening relationships, respect, and opportunities with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. The RAP provides a clear framework for how we will embed reconciliation into teaching, learning, and whole-school culture.
We encourage our school community to explore the published RAP. This is an important step in ensuring reconciliation is not just a document, but a lived and meaningful part of our everyday practice.
We thank all staff, students, and community members who contributed to the development of the RAP and look forward to continuing this important journey together.
Reconciliation Week 2026: A Time to Reflect, Learn and Act
Our school community is preparing to take part in National Reconciliation Week, an important annual event held across Australia that encourages all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures, and achievements, and to explore how we can contribute to reconciliation in our everyday lives.
Reconciliation Week is held from 27 May to 3 June, marking two significant milestones in Australia’s history: the 1967 Referendum and the High Court Mabo decision. These dates remind us of the ongoing journey towards justice, recognition, and respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
Throughout the week, students and staff will engage in a range of optional lunchtime activities (films, physical activity games, cooking experiences, etc.) designed to deepen understanding of First Nations histories and cultures. Keep an eye out for details on Compass Newsfeed soon!
This year’s theme encourages all Australians to reflect on how we can move “in unity” towards a more equitable future. It is an opportunity for our school community to strengthen relationships and consider how reconciliation can be lived through our actions, both inside and outside the classroom.

Culture Club Thursday 7 May – Aboriginal Culture
On Thursday, our optional lunchtime Culture Club had the privilege of welcoming a KESO (Koorie Education Support Officer) who visited to share valuable insights into Aboriginal Culture with students.
Anne generously made time out of her busy schedule to visit us, and we were very appreciative of the opportunity to learn from her knowledge and experience. She brought along a range of cultural artefacts, which students were able to explore and engage with in a hands-on way, deepening their understanding of Aboriginal histories and cultures.
The session also included a fun and interactive quiz, with small prizes that added to the excitement and encouraged student and staff participation. It was a positive and engaging experience, with students showing strong interest and respect throughout.
We were pleased with the turnout from Culture Club members, and the session proved to be a meaningful opportunity to learn, reflect, and connect more deeply with Aboriginal culture. Thank you Liz Senior for organising this fantastic experience!
