Pi Day

by Mr David Innes, Mathematics Domain Leader & Learning Specialist: Numeracy Improvement

On Friday 13 March, Box Hill High School underwent its traditional celebrations for that beautiful, irrational number we all know and love. Students were challenged to draw the perfect freehand circle, find the exact figures on a unit circle and, of course, to recite pi to as many decimal places as possible.

Congratulations to Callum E from 9F who reached 303 decimal places (possibly a new record at BHHS!).

Well done to all those brave students who clambered upon the dais in the quadrangle and gave the recitation a go.

Special thanks to Ying Qin who helped to organise the event, ably supported by Juliana Pang, Phil Gatti and Michael Schier.
