School production will be energetic and fun!

Rehearsals for Box Hill High School’s upcoming production of The Drowsy Chaperone are in full swing, and the energy in the rehearsal room is electric. Over the past term, students have been working tirelessly to bring this high-energy, fun musical to life, and the results are already incredibly promising. From the lively ensemble numbers to the hilarious character moments (including spit-takes, rollerskating on stage and mid-song costume changes), this is a show you don’t want to miss.
The cast has been embracing the show’s blend of comedy and classic musical theatre charm while our student-led Tech Crew is hard at work behind the scenes, preparing to light the lights and ensure we have top-quality sound. Their job is especially exciting as this year we have a student band, performing live onstage!
What’s been especially exciting is seeing how quickly everything is coming together. Harmonies are tightening, choreography is sharpening, and the comedic timing is becoming funnier with each run-through. There’s a real sense of momentum building, and the Production team of Amy Longden, Leah Anderson, Grace De Blasio and Thomas Williams are so grateful for the dedication of our students.
With plenty more rehearsals to come, audiences can expect a joyful, high-energy performance that showcases the incredible talent and effort of Box Hill High School students.
